Small House Pressure Systems

For a small house, the quality answer to a Pressure System is the Blueline 100. A ready-to-go system comprising of a 1 hp pump and a 24 litre pressure tank. The pump body is made from the latest in high strength reinforced plastic. The pump shaft is protected with a unique impeller housing design which ensures no water comes in contact with metal. The pressure tank bladder is a superior butyl material for longer life.

An alternative for the small house is the Bluetron 100. This uses the same pump as the Blueline 100 however uses a Hydrotronic Constant Pressure Switch instead of the pressure tank. An excellent alternative.

Medium House Pressure Systems

For medium size houses the Blueline 120, with a 24 litre tank, is the quality choice. The tough reinforced plastic design ensures long life and excellent performance. If you require a larger pressure tank, the Inox 230 with 60 litre or 100 litre tank is the quality alternative. The Inox range are multistage pumps with a stainless steel pump housing and reinforced plastic end housings. The Inox 230 can be used with a Hydrotronic Constant Pressure Switch with excellent performance.

Large House Pressure Systems

For the large house, the Blueline 240, complete with a 24 litre tank, is the best alternative. This pump has the same stainless steel design as the Inox range put together with a quality tank. ClayTech also offer the Inox 240 and Inox 250 with a 60 litre or 100 litre tank. Alternatively one can choose to use the Hydrotronic Constant Pressure Switch with either the Inox 240 or Inox 250.

About The Two Types of Water Pumps

Conventional Pump with a Pressure Tank and Pressure Switch

Inside the pressure tank is a water bladder and this fills up under pressure when the pump starts. The pressure switch stops the pump when the pressure in the bladder reaches a high set pressure. When you open your house tap, the bladder will empty until the pressure reduces to the pressure switch low set point. The pump will then cut in and pump the water to your house. The benefit of this type of system is that you receive a certain amount of draw-off on the pressure tank before the pump starts. The larger the pressure tank the more the draw-off. This allows the toilet to fill or a glass of water to be poured without starting the pump. These systems have been used for over 50 years and have proven to be reliable and easy to maintain.

Hydrotronic Electronic Switch System

This switch has revolutionised pressure systems and has made them more user friendly and simpler to use. The switch is connected to the discharge of the pump and operates with an electronic circuit board to sense the pressure and flow in the system, It will start the pump when you open your house tap and it will stop the pump when the tap is closed. The benefit of this system is that you will have the constant pressure while your using the tap. This is great when you're in the shower for you will have constant pressure. No pressure fluctuations and no water temperature changes. The Hydrotronic also provides for loss of prime protection. This means that the pump will not overheat when you run out of tank water. The pump will shut down automatically.
